Warframe FanArt Pipelining a Game Ready Character Design from Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Unreal Engine , Final Renders in Marmoset Toolbag into Unreal Engine.
Its been a longhaul of a project but I am happy to share my full project on Ruina. This was my first big project taking a character design and incorporating into a 3D game pipeline. Ruina has been a big personal project I undertook in the past year.
I really to wanted to create a character I felt really passionate about ,while also influencing my own cultural inspirations.
Ruina is a frame inspired by Carribean aesthetic incorporating shapes and forms that derive from Ocean wildlife such as clams, seahorses, seamonkeys with her movement and fighting style resembling Flamenco and Capoeira movement.
One of the challenges I wanted to approach was creating pearlescent shaded textures / material blending and its interaction with lighting. In the form of the model I tested out this type of shading in the Pearl bits in the Head, thighs, knees while also complimenting the metallic accents in the torso and inner corset of the into the back of the model.
In Substance Painter I laid out the structure of the model the same way Tennogen artists use for creating Skins in game while also using the same renderer used ingame. Which was fun planning out and creating a cleaned-up layout using subfolder organization.
Overall I really enjoyed working on this project ,I learned quite a bit with 3D modeiling in Zbrush,Maya ,UV layout and getting super in-depth with texturing in Substance Painter making me feel more confident with the pipeline of Character Modeling in games. Pretty hyped to create & share more Awesome artwork in the future!
